FAQ

Q. Can you modify any Baron airframe?

Regrettably, no. The STC application only covers the B58-P airframe.

Q. When do you anticipate receiving the STC?

Based on our experience with the Malibu, Bonanza and Duke turbine conversions, we anticipate a formal STC award in 2011.

Q. Tell me about the Baron and this conversion.

The Beechcraft Baron is a light, twin-engined piston aircraft originally developed by Beech Aircraft Corporation and currently manufactured by the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. The Baron is a variant of the Beechcraft Bonanza, and was introduced in 1961.

Previously, a pair of 310-325 HP Lycoming piston engines have powered all Barons. The subsequent additions of better turbocharging, enhanced pressurization and new interior arrangements have improved performance and cabin comfort.

The ultimate addition is an upgrade to Pratt & Whitney turbine power. The PT6A is the most reliable and dependable engine in the world today with over 290 million flight hours on over 10,000 aircraft.

The Baron Cougar from Northwest Turbine, LLC and Modified by Rocket Engineering combines the luxury cabin of the Baron, with the legendary Pratt & Whitney PT6A turbine engine to make truly high performance, personal airliners.
